HOW THE
VIDEO COURSES WORK
Probably
the best way to explain it is to share what we send to

The
course begins with some history of bankruptcy, then goes
into basic concepts, then chapter 7 in more depth, then
case handling and processing, then chapter 13, then
filling out the forms, etc.
It
includes attention to legal research, motions practice,
adversary proceedings, and ethics and compensation
issues.
The
course is made up of 67 individual video "classes" that
range from 15 to 50 minutes. Each video class is followed
automatically with a short test of from 10 to 25
questions. The total course comes to 775 questions. We
want to see at least 750 answered
correctly.
The
videos are viewable online at any time, 24/7. That way,
they may be viewed at the enrollee's convenience. Each
class may be viewed as many times as the student wishes,
even after the course is completed.
Some
students complete the entire course in one or two weeks.
Others are taking six months or more. The student sets
the pace.
Enrollment
also gets access to the "materials" web page, which
includes all the outlines for the classes, plus
additional resources, including 20 case-handling
checklists, 10 flow-charts, sample forms, important web
links, and other materials.
I
am the presenter for most of the classes. I lecture,
while the outline is shown on your monitor. The outline
scrolls down as I cover the
bullet-points.
At
the end of each online test, there is a place where the
student can ask questions about the legal issues and
procedures discussed in the
class.
Each
test also has a place to comment on the quality of the
video just viewed, and make constructive
criticism.
About
4 hours of the course are presented by a paralegal, who
goes over each form line-by-line.
The
student can obtain the book, Fundamentals of Consumer
Bankruptcy Law, for half-price ($90 instead of $180). So
the total enrollment with the book would be
$690.
The
checklists include a "Post-Petition Deadline Hotsheet"
which helps you keep track of
deadlines.
You
